Depending on the service used, Expat Legal Buddy may facilitate communication or connections between users and independent lawyers, legal professionals, translators, consultants, or other service providers.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Expat Legal Buddy is not itself the lawyer or legal representative of the user merely because the user accesses or uses the Platform.

The availability of the Platform does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship, solicitor-client relationship, or other professional legal relationship between the user and Expat Legal Buddy.

2. NO AUTOMATIC ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

Use of the Platform, submission of an inquiry, creation of an account, payment for a service, or communication through the Platform does not automatically establish an attorney-client relationship.

An attorney-client or other professional relationship will arise only where:

1. A lawyer or legal professional agrees to provide legal services;
2. The scope of the engagement has been established; and
3. Any required engagement documentation, terms, or agreements have been completed.

The applicable lawyer or legal professional may conduct their own conflict checks, identity verification, assessment, and acceptance procedures.

3. INDEPENDENT LAWYERS AND PROFESSIONALS

Lawyers and other professionals accessible through Expat Legal Buddy may be independent professionals or independent service providers.

Their professional advice, opinions, representations, conduct, fees, and services are their own responsibility.

Expat Legal Buddy does not guarantee that any particular lawyer or professional will accept a matter or provide a particular legal outcome.

Where a user is connected with a lawyer or professional, the professional may provide services under a separate engagement or agreement.

Users should carefully review any engagement letter, fee agreement, terms of service, or other document provided by the relevant professional before proceeding.

4. LEGAL INFORMATION IS NOT NECESSARILY LEGAL ADVICE

Information provided through the Platform may include:

• Frequently asked questions;
• Translations;

Translated versions of the website may be generated or assisted by AI and automated translation tools. The English-language version shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency or ambiguity.

6. NO GUARANTEE OF LEGAL OUTCOME

Expat Legal Buddy does not guarantee any particular outcome in relation to:

Unless expressly stated otherwise, translated or automatically generated documents should not be assumed to constitute an official legal translation, certified translation, notarized document, or legally binding document.

Where a certified, notarized, officially translated, or otherwise formally verified document is required, the user should obtain the appropriate service from a qualified and authorized professional.

In the event of any discrepancy between a translation and the original document, the original document should be reviewed and relied upon by the appropriate professional.

9. GOVERNMENT, POLICE, COURT, AND IMMIGRATION MATTERS

Expat Legal Buddy does not control decisions made by:

No information provided by Expat Legal Buddy should be interpreted as a guarantee that a government authority will approve, reject, investigate, prosecute, release, grant, extend, or otherwise decide a matter in any particular way.

10. EMERGENCY AND URGENT MATTERS

Expat Legal Buddy may provide or facilitate urgent legal assistance where such services are available.

However, the Platform should not be treated as an emergency response service.

If you are facing an immediate threat to life, serious injury, or another emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service or government authority immediately.

For legal emergencies involving arrest, detention, police investigations, criminal allegations, or similar matters, users should seek assistance from an appropriately qualified lawyer as soon as possible.

Availability of urgent assistance through the Platform may depend on location, time, availability of professionals, and the nature of the matter.

11. AVAILABILITY OF LAWYERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

Expat Legal Buddy does not guarantee that a lawyer, translator, consultant, or other professional will always be available.

Availability may depend on:

• Time;
• Urgency;
• Conflict-of-interest considerations;
• Professional capacity;
• Legal restrictions; and
• Other circumstances.

A request submitted through the Platform may therefore be declined or redirected.

12. FEES AND ESTIMATES

Nothing on the Platform requires or encourages a user to:

16. NO GUARANTEE OF COMPLETENESS OR CURRENTNESS

Expat Legal Buddy may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform, users, professionals, or third parties.

Expat Legal Buddy may update this Disclaimer from time to time.
